I’m looking for recommendations for a Melbourne-based company, designer or theatre practitioner with experience in projection/video design for drama productions. I’ve found plenty of options offering more traditional theatrical projections — castles, Wizard of Oz landscapes etc… but I’m looking for something more creative and cinematic for our 2027 play. We don’t have an enormous budget, so I am also really interested in hearing how other schools or smaller theatre companies have approached this. Can a professional designer work with a group of students to develop the visual content, for example, with the designer providing the creative direction and technical expertise while students help create the work?
